The project “Become the giver – be the change” addresses the need to activate the act of giving (donating) among the local society on the territory of the municipality of Sandanski (the town of Sandanski and the constituent settlements).
WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT AND HOW ARE WE PLANNING TO ACHIEVE THEM?
Through the following actions we are planning to achieve our goal:
- Creating conditions where the initiatives and realizations of the donating campaigns can be accomplished on a local scale, thus achieved by creating a recognizable platform;
- Getting the business and individuals involved by introducing them to the donation and volunteering in social and public causes;
- Creating a culture in the youths, the business and the people of organizing different volunteer actions with the donating element in mind; increasing the levels of awareness of the different forms of donations; increasing the sensitivity and initiative on important for the local community topics that could not be realized without the donors’ support;
- Getting the public sector involved as a guarantee of the trust of the public in donation – to increase the implementations of public initiatives and campaigns by involving various stakeholders in order to increase the publicity and transparency of the donation process;
ACTIONS ON THE PROJECT
- Action 1: “Creating a local online platform for donations”
Our idea is to have the most accessible platform for the organization of charity campaigns and the accumulation of online donations; to have full integration with the most used social media; to be accessible, transparent, mobile, and to demonstrate the path of donations. The Association I planning for the initiators and contributors not to pay any taxes.
- Action 2: “Stimulating the public involvement, the public sector, the business, and the non-governmental organizations from the small cities”
We are planning to organize a public discussion in the form of motivational talks with the presentation of good practices and various forms of contribution. Simultaneously we are planning to organize events for the young and energetic students in the High schools within the municipality of Sandanski. During these events, we will present the project and will have a motivational lecture with the slogan “Become a volunteer – give your share”. The lecture will be presented by a representative of the society who have taken part in the charity campaigns and who can share about their experience and motivate the students. They will tell more about the ways in which the students can also get involved in the initiative by being volunteers with the idea of creating this mindset of volunteering and its different forms from their school years ahead.
- Action 3: “Promoting donating on the territory of the municipality of Sandanski”
Our Association is planning the preparation, the organisation, and the conduction of 3 campaigns – social, public and ecological campaign.
Through the platform, the social media, partners, the public societies involved we will initiate a charity initiative in support of a person or people at disadvantage with concrete needs. The second one involves the gathering of funds for the improvement and rehabilitation of a sport and relaxation designated areas in the municipality. And the third one will be ecologically driven – a contributors’ alley in the city’s park with the slogan “Plant a tree, gift a future”.
